SkyDrive updated - 25GB of free online storage

Six months ago, the last update to SkyDrive right there on the SkyDrive team blog was announced. Although they have been pretty hush-hush since then, the team has been working diligently to bring you new features and improvements across SkyDrive and the rest of Windows Live based directly on your feedback.

While they work on the finishing touches, here's a taste of what's to come.

• Even more free online storage - Bringing you the grand total of 25MB free online storage.
• More control over your data - Download your photos / files directly or in a zipped format. You can also move and copy them between multiple folders.
• Photos rule - Twenty new features have been included in this release that contains bigger thumbnails, order prints, slide show and people tag.
• Sharing sould be easy - Share your files and photos without requiring friends and family to use Windows Live ID. Also, see what your friends have shared lately all in one place with some more features.
• Plus much, much more - Keep your Internet Explorer favorites in sync between computers, and access them anywhere from your SkyDrive. A complete overhaul of the look and feel to match the look and feel of Windows Live and many more..

SkyDrive's hot updates

SkyDrive has been updated, Here's a quick rundown of what's included:

• More places. We're now live in 24 additional locations, bringing our grand total to 62 countries and regions! We're happy to welcome Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Thailand, Ukraine, Venezuela, Serbia, Indonesia, Pakistan and Malaysia.
• Comments. You can leave comments on any file in SkyDrive and see all of the recent comments people have left for you.
• Captions. A picture's worth a thousand words, but sometimes you need a few more. Now you can add captions and descriptions to your files and photos:

Browsing widget. When you click on any file, you can speed through all the files in the folder.

SkyDrive - 5GB of free online storage

More space with portability (where-ever you are) is one of the modern issues as Desktop Applications are substituted by online alternates.

Windows Live SkyDrive is one of them which originally came out with the name of Windows Live Folders but later on, Microsoft changed its name for some good reasons.

Before yesterday, this drive was in the Beta testing mode with 1GB of storage but now it offers the space five times more - that’s 5GB of free online storage for your favorite documents, pictures, and other files.

SkyDrive is also available now in 38 countries/regions. All the bugs in previous release was fixed and due to that it has become more faster, reliable and secured. I hope you'd enjoy it!
